‘True North: A Story of Racism, Resilience & Resisting Systems of Denial’
Book Launch: London
Saturday 22 February, 3.30pm-5.30pm
The Maqam Centre, Wrentham Avenue, London, NW10 3HJ
Join me as I speak with national inclusion expert, former Director for London at the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), and author Sal Naseem to discuss his critical insights and personal experiences about the ugly face of racism and its impact.
As a young South Asian of boy of migrant parents, growing up in Kilmarnock, Sal Naseem experienced the violence of racism from a young age which inevitably impacted his life and future.
Fast forward several years and, as a Director at the International Office of Police Conduct, Sal was once again forced to stand up to racism but this time the perpetrators had the law on their side.
True North is a shocking yet utterly moving account of Sal’s fight to follow the right path...always...
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear from Sal and find out more about his experiences and how he handled such brutal racism and inequality.
